I can picture it in my mind. Jon yells to Erin "I'm leaving now Honey" "Going on a 2 week trip with Xander". Erin yells back, "Have a good time! "You havent forgotten anything have you?" "Don't be silly" Jon hollers "This isn't my first rodeo" "I got everything!"
  • The amount of time, quality equipment and effort you put into your videos rewards all of us. Don’t think it goes unappreciated, your work is second to none. Thank you for the enjoyment you give your viewers.
  • @MHarenArt
I've already seen Xander's 3 Part series, so this is like a prequel! Looking forward to your video from the trip.
  • Just had surgery yesterday and am laying in bed missing canoeing and this is going to be perfect for how crappy I’m feeling layed up. This is probably the beginning of binge watching Lost Lakes for the rest of the day!! Thanks a ton! Couldn’t come at a better time! Cheers!
  • I just had a hell of a day, crawled in bed and told myself I need to watch an episode of Lost Lakes. Thanks so much.
  • The canoeing and camping will always be the heart of your videos, but I really enjoy when you throw in more of the mapping, route planning, and remote sensing you utilize to scout and explore routes. It's an integral part of being prepared for most any trip and highlights the tools to get that done. Let's face it, maps are just cool when you realize the picture they can paint without being somewhere yourself.
  • I love your stuff! My only complaint is your videos always make me hungry. When I was younger and took trips our meals were jerky, Dinty Moore canned stew, or peanut butter and jelly. You really know how to plan and prepare meals. Photography and editing are excellent. Keep up the good work.
  • Yessir! That’s gonna be one heck of a trip. I already got a taste of what to come from XB. The words Epic and Classic will forever be associated with this adventure I’m betting. I’m glad I’m able to get early access. Thanks Jon

I already watched Xander's videos of your guys' trip, but that little teaser at the end here got me so pumped to watch your rendition of it! 😁 Can't wait. Still loving all of your content Jon! 🙌
  • @jcverity
Great perspective of some pre-trip recon! It's fun seeing your excitement leading up to such a big adventure. Xander's perspective so far has been entertaining to say the least, and I'm very much looking forward to your video when it comes! Keep it up Jon, your enthusiasm is contagious.

At 16:00 you speak of sacrifice. These are things we all should be willing to do in all aspects of life. They make better, stronger, and more capable people. And in the senior years as I am in, it gives us lots of wisdom and perspective. You've made a fine point.
  • I agree on having a system. Efficiency is a great tool in the outdoors and beyond.
  • @luluwan5212
You find some of the worst slog portages imaginable, but you still always make it through. Can't wait for the whole trip video: I know this one is going to be epic!
  • @BeedeeEx
This is great to see some of the leg work that goes into your trips! Excited to watch your film of the big adventure after that awesome teaser. Happy trails Jon!
  • Finally! I can't wait to pop some popcorn and sit down to watch this video. Thanks again for all your great work John!
  • @Waveyak
Just the recon trip was an adventure. Can’t wait to see the main event. Interesting little stick stove. I’ve been using the Solostove stick stove for over a year now which is similar ro your old one. The Solostove works great and I don’t mind cutting the 3” logs but I can see how your new one would be less fussy. I loved your main trip teaser highlights. Very well done. Looks amazing. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Those roads are more well used by animals than us, I’m sure they love the easy walking just as we love the access into the wild areas. Forestry roads are an adventure I’ll never grow tired of!
  • Those spring peepers on the first night take me back to my childhood up north..thanks Jon.
  • Very well said about the sacrifices while camping and comfort at home. I love how you articulated the learning aspect of being out in the wild. Awesome video as always, Jon!
