How to cast on to the Cordy icord tool maker

To “cast on” start by making a simple slip knot.
While holding tool handle in your dominant hand, (in my case, my right hand) slip the loop of the slip knot over the first needle, under the second needle, and over the 3rd needle.

Slightly tighten the slip knot. Now with your free hand take the working yarn and lay over all three needles, grasp from the underside the slip knot tail and gently start to pull. Pull until the original casted-on slip knot is pulled up and over the needles. The needle latch will have closed over the working yarn that you laid into the needles. This first pull is sometimes a bit awkward and you may have to hand manipulate it to get it to go over the needles.

From here on you just continue to lay the working yarn across the needles and pull the slip knot (now icord) end up and over the needles. (*while pulling the slip knot/icord end don't hold the working yarn too tight or it will make it harder to pull the tail.) After about the 4th-6th row or so it starts to get very easy and you will gain speed as you go. To finish off, you simply cut the yarn leaving a little tail, grab a darning needle, Thread yarn through needle then push needle through each of the 3 stitches then cinch tight. You can then weave the end into the knitted icord to hide it.
