I loved how everyone was in complete shock watching Kirito and Kayaba bond over the love for movie references. And OMG... it's KEITA'S fault there was no tutorial NPC found!!

Kirito made Asuna cry in 2 consecutive episodes, 8 and 9, when he almost died

The references Heathcliff made weren't all to Tron, but they were all to old movies.

4 years late, but here goes anyways. Some explanation to why this certain episode was weird in the actual show. (Main reason, is that they didn't go more in depth on what is actually happening in certain scenes.) Explained in the novel. 1. Kirito never died, and came back before he killed kayaba. That was Kirito visualizing himself dying. He was able to stab kayaba, during the character death animation. (People may say it was because of the "Save a person after death crystal" that klein got from kirito, but this is wrong) 2. Asuna survives because of the "promise" they made before the fight. (Kirito technically lost, and died. And what asuna died was "suicide" in a way.) 3. Kayaba brought kirito and asuna to the "heaven" place in order to talk to them.

that little thing with kayaba vague movie reference at the end probably means that they are planning on doing season 2 as well. I think that's the "admin password" kirito is going to use to beat the other guy.

was half expecting kirito to say "it's so high definition!" when he got back to the real world

I loved the end, especially where you could hear the coin drop into the machine. MORE INCOMING!!!

It's the end of the season, Yamato said that they were taking a quick break then season 2 will air sometime this summer. If that's not enough Dizzasta is working on a soft reboot of Fairy tail abridged to go on the something witty channel (it was supposed to go on the pallet town champions but YouTube fuckery deleted it)

The references Heathcliff made in Kirito's flashback: "Go ahead, make my day." (Sudden Impact) "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here, this is the war room." (Dr. Strangelove) "I used to fuck guys like you in prison." (Roadhouse) And of course... "How many of you have seen Tron?"

Dude that bit at the end is to show they are doing more, it has the continue playing countdown on the arcade machine and you have to insert a coin to keep going so thats what the sound is at the end, its them putting in tokens or coins to continue it

The flashbacks were just him making movie references in general

I loved the part in the end with the countdown. Just when you think it's over becose the screen is going black you hear the sound of a coin being put in. Im so happy that ther's a second season!!!:D (sorry to those people that still think Sword Art Online was good but this is so much better especially the ending!)

if they do the second part with the flying fairies and Asuna being kidnapped, I REALLY hope they do something about the final confrontation scene in the game, cause that shit got REALLY dark for a few minutes, like uncomfortable to watch dark.

That part where they said they'd meet in the real world is pretty touching. Gotta admit I think it's better than the actual anime
