I lived in Key West for 26 years. It's the most beautiful place with the nicest people I've ever experienced.

the drive to Key West is stunningly beautiful and restores the soulful energy to the maximum.

Watching this reminded me of how old I had become (80) I traveled all of those old, closed to traffic bridges many times. Walked the beaches, and camped wherever we felt like. It sure has grown since the 50's and 60's, but where hasn't. Nice to see it all again.
  • Been to the Keys twice...It seems like after you've been once you are always trying to get back. Such a laid back vibe. Key Lime pie...OMG!

I have lived in the Keyes since 1981 the best place on earth to live,Remember when you come to visit to take a deep breath slow down you are now on island time enjoy the experience!
  • I love the Florida Keys. Driving down was the most relaxing time I've ever had. I camped on the beach side of Bahia Honda State Park. The most beautiful sunrises I've ever seen. We woke up early and walked down to less populated beach and saw dolphins swimming close to the shore. You can see so many stars twinkling at night and so many falling stars. I love the short overnight rain. We had to close the top of our tent a few times during the night. Duval St. was cool but my favorite part of the Key West was the architecture and omg the flora. Tropical flowers that I'd never seen before. I drove around admiring people's plants and fruit trees lol. The sun, the air, the color of the water, I just love the feeling this place invokes in me. One of my regrets is not stopping at Anne's Beach to wade. Wish I was driving down there now. I'm not sure how this got in my recommendations but thank you. I needed this. 💖 The Keys!
  • This place is kinda like a tropical paradise in the US, for sure!
  • It's crazy how you go from the untamed wild Everglades to a tropical paradise it's amazing I love trips to Florida.

You gotta go to the Keys at least once. But once is not enough. I love that drive. One of the most beautiful places in the world.

I was stationed in the Air Force between 1980 and 1983. It was the best time I ever had. I still see pictures of Key West when my brother stops there on a cruise. It brings back many good memories. Great food and many things to do and see. Thanks for the tour.

I am a native Floridian and as a boy back in 1967 my family traveled to Key West. I remember a couple of gas stations and some rickety old motels. We camped out on Turtle mound, Bahia Honda, the sand knats were terrible at night, horse flies were bad too. We saw native indians walking along the roadside and the bugs didn't seem to bother them and I wondered why. Wow! It is amazing things change in just 50 years!

I’ve been driving down to the Keys from where I live in Fort Lauderdale since I got my drivers license 20 years ago and I must say, this video has a wealth of information for those new to the Keys. I’m getting ready to head down to Key West in two days and I’m so excited (despite having just been there two months ago) I must have watched this video half a dozen times in the last week 👍

I love this video! I live in Omaha Nebraska , i met a guy on social media in 2012 , we became friends. In 2014 he found out that I needed a kidney. In November of 2017 he and his wife drove from Oologah Oklahoma and he saved my life with a donation. In December 2018 I bought my first motorcycle, in March of 2019 my brother and I loaded our bikes and met Sein in Oklahoma waiting with his RV , we loaded the bikes in his trailer and set off for Daytona bike week, after a couple days riding in central Florida we parked the RV in A campground just north of key largo and rode to Key West! This is a bucket list item for me and was one of the most amazing experiences in my life . Back home it was 3’ of snow and we had 85° i Key West. Summer 2021 I’m planning a road trip with my 18 year old son in my tiny camper to the kays . Most beautiful place on earth!
  • One of the best drives for ur soul is from Miamis international Airport to key west. So therapeutic it took me 5 hrs when it should have been around 3. I loved it.

I grew up believing that Florida was heaven on Earth... And when I finally got to visit Miami in 2003 to go on a cruise, I stopped the car in the middle of the highway just to literally kiss a Palm Tree near the state line.... I fell in love with Florida and didn't want to leave after our cruise was over... Needless to say, we came back to sucky ass Eastern North Carolina and I haven't been able to go back to Florida since... I would give anything to live in either Miami or Key West... But, I would take any where in the southern half of the state... If I never see another cold Winter or a snowflake again, it would be too soon! Florida will always be Heaven On Earth... To me!!
