I had horrible headaches after my lumbar puncture. On day three, I finally took caffeine and the majority of the pain went away. By day 5, I was able to spend 15 minutes at a time sitting up. I didn't think that I would gradually get better. I did gradually get better, though. By day 7 I only had to spend 10 minutes of every hour laying down. By day 8, I was back to normal. Hang in there.

If i knew a spinal tap gave me this bad of a headache i would have never had one. Ive had an headache for a strait week and feel like im losing my mind because the pain wont go away

i find laying on my stomach makes it go away a lot faster than my side or back

Been having headaches after a spinal tap (with a very thick needle for a catheter) for 4 months now. Just got my blood patch yesterday and it did literally nothing and my neck is really stiff and J get frequent blackouts. Maybe it takes a few days to work, but I was told that it would work within a few hours. Hope that the situation improves over the next few days

Thanks. My 14 year old daughter had it last week. Got a blood patch (in Abu Dhabi ) after that headache improved in severity but not fully eleminated. She is getting bed rest and hoping for full resolution of headache. Your presentation is reassuring in that we expect fill resolution within 2 weeks.

I had lp done before 2 weeks and i have not recovered from it.after few minutes of sitting i get neck pain.i am also feeling nauseous.should i consult my doctor
