They'll Never See Each Other Again, So Sad

The fact that it was not a special arranged day is what makes the day so special. They saw each other as old friends with no fanfare. Perfect.

If you notice, Key was being gentle round Sherpa, he knew something was wrong There was a special bond between those 2 ❤❤

I work in fast food as a manager. On Friday night, a couple came through the drive thru with their dog. I immediately started crying. Why? The dog was not only a malamute, but had the SAME MARKINGS ON THE FACE AS SHERPA!! 😭😭 I ended up treating this special pup with the biggest pup cup I have ever made and included a nice sized piece of chicken nuggets in Sherpa's memory. And yes, Key knew. Dogs have a keener sense of smell and have been used in the past to detect areas of concern, be it cancer or a very bad infection, thus saving thousands of lives. We all miss him greatly, and he visits you everyday. Stay strong for all of us. ❤

“Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you, until we meet again”. This is on a candle holder bought for me when I lost my beloved husky. I light a candle for him every day and, now, it will be for Sherpa, too. Shine bright Sherpa and Splintir. ❤

The more you love someone the more you grieve. Our howling hero has left his pawprints on so many hearts! Bless him! ❤❤

I think Key could sense it. He was so much gentler with Sherpa. I think that roll he did in front of Sherpa was to cheer him up.💜💜💜

It could be that Key could in fact smell it as they use dogs to sniff out cancer. I am glad Key and Sherpa got one good day together before his passing. It all still makes me so sad.

I noticed that right away. Key knew. Dogs are able to detect cancer…a very sad but remarkable moment in time.❤️

Sherpa’s name and memory is a blessing for us all. We love him and we love you 🩷💜❤️💚💙🐾🐾🐈‍⬛🌈

They had a very special friendship. Thank you Jamie for being the best dad Sherpa could ever of had.

Keys energy level changed when he smelled Sherpa too. Key is trying to tell you he is sick. Key was so careful and concerned.

One thing that strikes me is that Key knew his old friend was tired and hurting, and he was really gentle. He was all, “C’mon old buddy, you’re slowing down, but you and me can still go get into mischief.” And when he saw the old boy lying down, he’d be, “All righty. You do you, it’s all good.” I know you miss that old boy terribly, and I know Key will miss his partner in crime. Hopefully Key will come to understand why his bestie can’t come around anymore; maybe he’s already figured it out. But man, these two loved each other, and their last day together was a good one. ❤❤❤

For Sherpa, every playdate with Key were special.

All their visits were special. The door ritual cracked me up every time & the shouting at biscuit lady. What a pair of characters.❤❤

I'm sure Key could sense somehow this mass in Sherpa's body. Dogs help people with different kind of illnesses as they can smell something different in the body. Love you and miss you, Sherpy. The sweetest boy ever ❤❤🤍🤍🤍🤍

They say that dogs can smell cancer. I truly believe he knew what was happening. He was his best bud till the end🥺💙💙💙

Look at Sherpa smiling away when he's lying on the floor! He was happy to see his friend despite all the discomfort and stress.
