My biggest mistake is buying multiple pairs of shoes or shoes I don't need just because they're on sale. I've probably got about 8 pairs I've never worn... x2 Adiós 6 £40, Liberate Nitro £40, React Infinity v1 £63, Adiós Pro v1 £30, Adiós Pro v2 £90, Zoom Fly Flyknit £73, Vaporfly Next 2 £101... Oh and an Adidas SL20 £45

A pair of Nimbus 25’s. I’m relatively new to running and haven’t bought many pairs of shoes yet. The Nimbus feel like they are taking energy from me with every stride. I have 120 km in them.

Everyone was crazy about the Asics Novablast 3, so I bought them, but I don't like them.

Running belt with the clasp. Tried to avoid the FlipBelt and finally gave in after failed attempts buying other belts. FlipBelt works like a dream!

I love my invincible 3s for recovery runs. I’m not a marathon runner, more 10k. Day before a race or whatever, I reach for them first. They really do fit that purpose for me. I dont really wear them more than like 30mins, but I don’t feel I need them for any longer.
  • Buying running shoes on release day/month. Waiting 5-8 months (even a year) at least gives you a massive discount already.

What an inventive little topic you've created here, and I've a few gripes of my own about a certain Peg 39s which I thought would be great. It was an online blind buy bec the 37s were so good - eventually never ran much in them. Turned out after a year plus of ownership, after taking the insoles off, there was a metal piece of plate exactly where the heel would impact in the insides of the shoe!

As a heavier runner, 200lbs, I love the invincible 3. I have multiple pairs and they feel amazing to me. No they aren't fast, and they are heavy but I love them. I love the bounce and protection they offer me. I'm one of the lucky ones that has no issues with the heel slip either.
  • When you hit 50k subs you should film a video doing a parkrun in your Oakley sunglasses, Soar vest, Gymshark shorts and Nike Invincibles.
  • buying the Under Armour Machina 3 having seen an influencer review. They are absolutely shocking

I love my Soar Race Vest, which fits me perfectly and is the lightest top I own, and Oakley Flak 2.0 XL sunglasses, which hug my narrow face without shifting or rubbing. I guess everyone is built differently. The one item I've not returned despite its shortcomings are my Janji Trail Half Tights. Their many pockets readily accommodate hydration and fuel for two-hour runs, however, they chafe where it's nobody's business. Wearing comfortable briefs solves this problem, yet makes the tights too warm for summer, limiting their use to autumn and spring runs.

Outside of running I'm always in Under Armour 6" boxerjocks. Charged cotton version for everyday and the Performance or mesh version for hiking or motorbiking. They never ride up, no chafing, super comfy. 6" inseam is perfect length. Functional fly too!

I wore an Alta jock strap for years but when it wore out as I filled out I replaced it with a Nike one that really cuts into my legs after a couple miles.
  • I have one running vest - and will leave it at that! mind you the soar shorts with a liner are amazing and have lasted years - as I can only wear one pair of a shorts at a time I won't buy anything else. Love the honesty of what didn't work for you even if others loved it

When low drop was a trend - bought some Saucony's which killed my achilles. A trionz wristband cos Paula wore one !
  • I am 100% with you on the under armour compression shorts, the previous version was lovely to run in, the newer model has seems down the inner thigh, not good unless you have twiglet legs
  • I love my invincible 2’s, I am prone to injury and they are perfect for all my long and recovery runs. Very durable as well, still has enough bounce after 400 miles 😊

My biggest regret was getting the Hover Air drone. Thought it'd be great to help document some of my more scenic ultras, but never had enough space in my pack for it. Also it turns out I'm not really a drone person!
  • Fordy, if your Soar running vest doesn't fit, return it. They let you do that. Simple. No regrets.
  • Asics Gel-Nimbus 26. Not only did they give me massive blood blisters, but they also cost me two toenails and left another toe with no feeling for over a month. I wanted to try the Novablast 4s, but now I'm terrified of Asics.
