The best treatment for a pinched neck nerve (causing shoulder pain, arm pain, rhomboid pain, or pins and needles or numbness in the hand) involves 3 key motions: retraction, traction & lateral flexion. These movements give the greatest relief from ‘cervical radiculopathy’. So, here are the best pinched nerve exercises.

COACHING PROGRAM: Over 12 weeks, I help people with poor upper body posture, and posture related issues—like neck, shoulder, & upper back pain—correct their posture using science-based mobilising, stretching, & strengthening exercises… so they can feel straight, strong, flexible, & pain free again. THINGS TO AVOID. IMPORTANT!!
Looking at your phone in a flexed position on the sofa, or in bed, is THE most common cause of nerve pain down the arm. So, lift your phone to a higher position when you sit, and lie on your side to look at devices in bed (with your phone on the pillow next to you).
Exercises for a pinched neck nerve that are best to avoid: Try not to look up too much when you have a pinched nerve causing arm pain, as this will compress the nerve more. And avoid exercises where you lean towards the painful arm.

CENTRALISATION
You’ll know you’re improving if the numbness, pins and needles or pain down the arm (or upper back pain) starts to recede towards the base of the neck.

WARNING SIGNS
If you start to get prolonged numbness in the arm or hand, or any muscle weakness in the arm or hand… go straight to your doctor.

  • I have been suffering from neck, arm, and shoulder pain for 3 months. I've been to a chiropractor, physical therapist, and neurologist. However, they couldn't figure out what was wrong and I only got temporary relief. after 2 days of watching your videos, my pain has greatly decreased and my strength has returned to my arm. Thank you for these videos.

Wow this fixed me. It was a pinched nerve. The last few days I did Physio with all the electrical muscle machines and also did acupuncture. But your exercises did more to relieve my pain than all those sessions. Thank you! You’re a gift for making this video for me and millions of pain sufferers.

I was at the point of turning my whole body just to look to the right. I just completed these exercises tonight and it's the first time I've felt relief in over 2 years. I cannot express how thankful I am to you. ❤

I love your videos, because the static index is so low - just the indications and exercises, not a lot of extra talk and presentation. Thank you

These are things I've done intuitively with my chronic pain but it's great having it explained and performed to understand what's going on. Thank you!
  • @alpayalp5722
Thank you very, very much indeed! I was about to spend a lot of money and go to physical therapy. I have been suffering from neck and shoulder pain for at least 5 years. When I saw your video, I wanted to try the exercises you gave. The result is a tremendous improvement from day one! I immediately canceled my appointment and continued the exercises every day. Within a week, I was relieved of 90% of my pain. You guarantee your place in heaven with these videos :)
  • Thankyou for this! I've had the same nagging neck pain every waking moment for almost 15 years. It's not gone yet, I've only just done my first session of these exercises but I feel a huge relief from the pain that I haven't felt for as long as I can remember. I honestly feel like a totally new person, it's amazing ❤️

Wow, wow, wow!!!! With ice packs pressed against the base of my skull, I performed Exercise 1, three times for two days. The tingling, numbness, pressure, and congestion in my ears and at the left rear side of my head, and base of my skull are gone!!! After almost three years of primary care doctor, chiropractor, neurologist, cardiologist, endocrinologist appointments, two rounds of MRIs, hundreds of anti-inflammatory pills, and parting with thousands of dollars looking for help, I have finally found the fix for my “occipital neuralgia” diagnosis! Thank you so much for posting this video. I’ve done many chin tucks and a lot of neck traction during that time, but never lying down and simultaneously, as you demonstrated. This position allowed me to simultaneously apply ice packs, which I think was also very helpful. Wow, praise the Lord!!! 😂
  • I just got relief after 4 weeks of neck, upper back, shoulder and arm pain. Literally, after doing these exercises 1 time, I had a decrease in the pain. Thank you!
