this is one of my favorite places on earth....I ended uP staying more than 2 weeks in el retiro, cause I didn't want to leave...such good memories and the people working there are so nice and welcoming and the communal dinners ,bonfires next to the river and the night swimmings...definetly a must go place......the village and the semuc champey pools and panorama hill...WOW .

Had never thought of bringing your own blanket.  Such a great idea. $7 stay?  A bit of awesome, and looks like it has character.

Hi. I'm about to go to the beach for a while with no money and no acquaintances. Sounds crazy, its crazy really but it's one of those feelings that are just there inside and a voice that says "just go for it, go away" I'm scared. Any tips would be much appreciated!! (I live in Mexico) Thanks.
