Why stoping Ukraine?

Not enough info on what's actually happening. There's a nuclear power plant about 30 miles into Kursk, and they forced all the male employees to go reinforce the counter attack. And one of the big benefits of this will be Russia having to devote way way more resources protecting their side of the entire border now. Also the conscripted soldiers that are guarding the border haven't been used in combat because if they all started dying in large numbers it will make this war even less popular, up till now the only concripts that have gone to Ukraine are ones that agree to for extra pay.
