We spend 5 months per year in Melbourne. November to end of March. Nice place to winter in Florida. We owned a home in Naples, Fl. for 24 years. 1990 to 2014. Naples became way too expensive and way to crowded. Moved our brick and mortar home to Western North Carolina in 2014. The winter weather in Naples is warmer, but not enough to put up with the excessive traffic and cost. Melbourne is a great compromise.

Have been in Melbourne for about a year and we are still looking for a good Chinese restaurant. Moved here from Baltimore and have not found one yet. We live in Suntree and found Red Ginger and Tely's to be hit or miss not sure if it is the chef or the timing. Also have found the Fresh Market to be very good replacement for Whole Foods and Trader Joes. Except for good cheap wine but then Costco came to town.

Hello! I live in New Jersey and am thinking of moving to Melbourne. I am an artist and a college art teacher. Does Melbourne have a great art market or will I have to drive to Orlando for that?

My wife and I are deciding between here and Vero Beach. Our questions are how is the crime, how are the schools since we have a three year old and what areas should we not look for homes in as far as being not the best neighborhoods

I was born and raised in Melbourne and I live in Saint cloud now just across the border to Orlando. One thing I can say about Melbourne is that it is way overpriced especially comparing it to Orlando. The houses in Melbourne shouldn't be the same price as Orlando or Orlando metro and it is so, artificially. There is nothing besides the beaches, which are in the city of Melbourne Beach, that draws people to Melbourne besides escaping somewhere else. We grew up calling it melboring. I guess if your in tech or health care you can find a suitable job but with the cost of all housing most people won't be compensated well with the limited industry and low wages. We've grown A LOT since the 90s but ways to make money have not. But, most of us don't have a problem with transplants, besides overcrowding and wondering why you choose Melbourne out of all the places in Florida. Growing up I was the minority in school being a native Floridian.

How is the inshore fishing in Melbourne? Is it better in Sebastian for inshore fishing? How many boat ramps in Melbourne?

Ma'am, what's your take on Florida tech University, is it okay for students to have good campus life and also how much rent does it cost to live alone, can you answer these kinds of FAQ especially for Melbourne.
