I find it pretty funny when the Night Angler mimics our Foghorn in whatever way. As if it feels like another player is mimicking me.

Mind sucker finds the boat by movement. You can simply stop your boat to avoid being attacked. You can rely on controller vibration or music cue.

Ghost Seagulls : Can also be scared off by your horn. Monster in the Basin : CAN be affected by banish. Same effect as the station's alarm, though obviously far shorter. I'd certainly focus on getting the station up and running, but if you wanted to just nab the artifact and run, Banish works.
  • You can scare the ravens off with the fog horn. The red water spouts spawn when you have high sanity and can outrun your boat, probably even a max speed boat. However, they have a very wide turn radius. The Mind Mindsuckers can't see you if you stay still. The Serpent in the Gale Cliffs only chases you if they see you. So, if you see rocks fall from the cliffs and hide, he won't see you to chase you.

Phantom Shark : Boost right or left when Shark is approaching directly to you Raven: Blow the horn.

There’s a funky trick with Haste that can let you dodge the phantom shark, but it doesn’t work for other panic-based attackers like the tentacles. The phantom shark adjusts its path to your ship’s natural movement and direction, if you suddenly change both those last minute by turning and using haste, you can escape it unharmed
  • I hate when “something” slithers into your hold and ruins your fish at night. Happens to me too often! I love this game.

Cursenados (Tornados that appears due to panic and is literally homing on you (Yes they can even chase you for long time)) sometimes can put a cursed fish into your cargo hold upon impact. I got a Toothy mackerel in a such way.

I had never seen a phantom shark throughout my 16h-playthrough before this video. Pretty sick !

There is a difference between pasive Kraken and when it about to attack you, drag your vision so that you can see the Kraken When you enter Kraken attack range the abyss blue light(the light around Kraken tentalce) , will turn red from there, you can just haste your way
  • Correction: The Tentacle Monster in Stellar Basin CAN be Banished. I've done it, and was quiet surprised.

All these people talking about using the horn against the ravens... man I dont think I even realized I HAD a horn.

The thing that scared me the most were dolphins. Everytime I went across vast expanses of ocean a dolphin would appear and scare tf outta me.
  • @JustChatta
phantom sharks only appear when you have very high panic (talking about the red panicky eye, not the yellowish one) and you have to be in stelar basin or gale cliffs, it wont spawn anywhere else, you can defend yourself with banish if you time it right and it will back off
  • @Gothaman1
The leviathan can appear in the day in any deep water, not just outside the map. He wont eat you inside the map, but you dont want to run into his large top fins that stick out.
  • @MateusVIII
You can actually use haste to dodge a lot of those monsters if you time it right. I have dodged phantom sharks quite a bit, it takes practice but you can do it.

I saw a ghost boat up close without the "monster fish" under the sea, it was kinda the opposite of the rocks. When i had the light on the ghost boat i couldn't see it but when i turned off/away the light, the boat was back. It didn't do anything to me, it was just there...
