Cass, your heart is precious. And to those of us, especially, to know we weren't just a project or video but to know you truly care for your viewers...it came across in our time with you and it certainly comes across as we watch you help others. Don't try to keep the tears out! It helps us see how beautiful your heart is. 💜 Thank you for all you do to encourage 💜
  • "But Joe said no, because he's practical." CRACKED me up. It feels weird to tell someone that decluttering and simplifying are a passion, but then you see how it helps someone who desperately needs it and how it blesses their life! Thank you for sharing your God-given talent with everyone.

"The stuff makes you hate yourself." Wow, what a true statement. Thank you for the arrow into my cluttered heart.

I'm a slow starter. No jumping into anything; you never know how deep the pond might be. Cass, don't ever be ashamed of your tears. You are the type of caring person this world needs more of. Your caring makes a difference. Unlike some types of 'carers' who care and do nothing or act and ultimately enable people to remain stuck in whatever their challenge is.
  • The other day my best friend’s granddaughter wanted to come and play the piano . I didn’t finish cleaning but I cleaned as much as possible . I let them come over. She was so sweet. She said “looks better.” She has seen the apartment seriously cluttered and for her to tell me that was so sweet. She’s non judgmental.
  • Whoa that vicious cycle: not trusting yourself enough, not loving yourself enough- that's some deep stuff there. I've watched you for years, but this is a new kernal of truth! One of my favorite videos of yours n I'm not even done watching it. Happy Holidays Cas!

Never thought I would get so emotional over decluttering 😭 She looked like a completely different person!! So inspiring ❤️ Thank you for this Cass, happy new Year!
  • @holly5791
I understand the emotion. You feel like you're trying to save a drowning person. It's a good thing that you didn't fly to Australia. She needed to know that she could do that on her own. Now her decluttering muscles are stronger. 💪👍
  • After reading almost 300 comments, I must say that you are touching a very raw nerve in all of us!! This particular video has touched a multitude of us!! In every way! Since we have been in this "crazy time" and we are home a bit more, you Dana and Dawn have touched all of us!! This type of help is what we all need, no judging, just honest help, no matter what level we are at. Words cannot express how much we appreciate you!! 🥰 TFS, hugs from Miami 🌴😎

So glad she was able to get through cleaning the room! I was worried when you said you hadn't heard from her in a while!! I used to have a room like this in the front of my home, no door to hide it, was so embarrassing. I finally cleaned it out and got it looking good, made a huge difference. I feel like I'm in the last layer of my onion cleaning lol. Layer by layer it's looking so much better and really nice!

The moment you got emotional, I got emotional because this is exactly how I feel. I have those same thoughts about things which is tied to my anxiety and depression, yet at the same time its having all this stuff that is making my anxiety and depression worse. It is a vicious cycle that just never ends. I love watching your videos and the inspiration you give me. Now its just my time to try and apply it! Thank you!
  • I started decluttering a year ago and gave myself a year to get my house done. I had some obstacles life threw in my way but I’m still working on it. I’m finally at the point where I’m finding it easier to keep my house clean and easier to let go of stuff. I grew up with little and I see value in the nice items people are giving away so I used to accept other peoples clutter into my life but no more! I’m not done my onion yet but I’m determined and well on my way! The hardest part was seeing stuff differently. Thanks to you, Dawn and Dana!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I so needed to see this video. I’m 7 months pregnant and in desperate need to set up a nursery for our new addition to our family. I’ve gone down this rabbit hole of trying to find the right video to help me declutter a bedroom/storage room/junk room just like this one. This is THE one video that has spoken to me and has taught me WHY I can’t clean that room. It’s so difficult for me to explain to my husband who keeps hounding me to “clean it up!” And To my best friend who tells me “just throw it away!” Her home is immaculate and not one dust bunny has a chance of hiding under her couch. Thank you for this🥺

I love how you link self-esteem with clutter. I have never thought of it that way. I have a family member and he's struggling with and I'm sure it's a big part of that.Thank you for helping me understand that and be more empathetic.
  • @jenmeades8089
I cried. Lots. My house is similarly cluttered and has been for years. I felt useless and worthless before it got bad (dysfunctional upbringing, abusive relationship, the usual) but it shows me every day how badly I’m failing. It’s a catch 22 cycle which I keep trying to break. Maybe this year I’ll succeed 🤞. Thank you so much for all the advice, support and non-judgmental understanding you share with us all. XxX
  • Hi Cass, I've never written a comment on YouTube videos before, but I wanted to let you know that I really appreciated this video and I wanted to say thank you. It hits me really hard and on target and I'm the same as Karen. Everything you said is the way I feel about myself and I have lost trust in myself to be able to declutter and organize. I've watched some of your videos, as well as other organizing/decluttering channels over the last few months, and I feel that I'm slowly changing, but I constantly have these inner battles with myself and negative self talk that really makes me wonder if I can do it on my own. Watching this video helps me know that other people have the same stuggles and this is a real issue and not just me. I'm a little more hopeful that I can do this also. Thank you for what you do.

Great story Cas! You are such an empath - and I love how you embrace it. I will say your karate moves to fight off the tears is hilarious.
  • @ednarose86
I love that you share the raw moments, the actual tears, the genuine feelings. Because it is eye opening to see that STUFF, literally STUFF, can truly ruin your life. It affects your self esteem, your energy, your mindset, your finances. Your relationships whether it be from the stress or by not letting anyone in because you're so ashamed of the mess. It can affect your health by covering things like mold or by having things stacked in a way that they fall over or thrown around to be tripped on. It affects your lifestyle, your routine, your time. If you are spending so much time looking for your keys and your wallet because it's just so cluttered, that it makes you late for work everyday. Or you can never have a Saturday where you can sit down and relax or spend time with your friends and family, because that's cleaning day.

OMGosh!!! My jaw literally fell with a gasp after seeing the after photo!! It's not just decluttered but also GORGEOUS! Looks like a professional organizer did that! Wow ... goals! For me you hit the nail on the head with the 'fear' factor. 👍😉
