  • Thanks for this inspiring reveiw. I saw your other video on why the TD27 is better than VST, both are inspiring to me because seems a tendency on Internet, specially on some youtube channels and faceook groups bashing Roland for their sounds, their prices, etc... Even though I think Roland does a lousy job creating the factory presets of the their modules what some people don't realize is the great potential these modules have once you sit down and really play with the settings. I have a VAD306, out of the box none preset delighted me... So I have to twitch a lot the sounds to make it good for me and now I'm very happy, the TD-17 doesn't have that many options like the 27 but still you can do a lot of stuff to make it great. Sorry for the lengthy msg and thanks!

I love the look and sound of the kit. I also like how you’ve gone with the setup that has the ride out the front.🤘🤘🤘

Another great video, keep them coming! Glad to hear you’re loving the kit. Would love to hear your thoughts on the cymbals you added - CY 5 and 8? How do you like them as a high hat and splash? As I said last time, I am contemplating a very similar setup to what you’ve done here. Also, how well does this bass drum work with your double pedal? Thanks again for all of your input!

I had a TD-30KXV but when the digital snare and ride debuted with the TD-50, I wanted to upgrade but couldn't decide what to do because of all the kit variations available with that module. I even made a contact with someone at Roland who offered me artist pricing on the TD-50KV but that wasn't really the kit I wanted even at a savings because it was still $5000 U.S. and if you're going to spend THAT much, you may as well go all the way and get it right!! I mean, I bought a brand new Chrysler PT Cruiser for less than I paid for my TD-30KXV (including an extra kick pad and a set of soft cases which were actually designed for a TD-25 kit), and I was kinda waiting to see if Roland had a hi-hat on the horizon for that third digital trigger input on the module. Then I saw the VAD 506 in a clip from last year's NAMM show set up as a seven-piece with two kick drums and two floor toms, and bought it for Christmas! BUT, researching it first, I noticed that it included the TD=27 module instead of the TD-50, and in the photos there weren't enough inputs on the back of the module for all the pads, then discovered that most of the pads are plugged into a cable that connects to the bottom (underside) of the TD-27, so the extra kick and floor tom would use two out of three aux inputs. The TD-50 would only need one of four aux inputs for the extra kick drum, providing me with three extra slots for pads from my TD-30 kit, so that's what I ordered, and a Roland drum amp. All for around $7K from Kraft Music in Wisconsin, with shipping. Believe it or not, I just learned something about all three modules this week that I didn't know before: Plug your second kick into aux 4, lol.

Too cool, man! I'm also using my acoustic-electronic drum on my channel.. but mine is not a Roland, it's a fully converted acoustic kit :) Anyways, love your covers, cheers!
