Vintage snowmobile gets independent front suspension! Part 5 of the Skidoo Everest mod sled build.

ITS FINALLY HAPPENING. The everest is getting torn down and built up once again. Time to put my fabrication skills to the test. Hoping she's ready to rip by the time the snow falls. Enjoy!

  • My brother just bought a blizzard that has been converted to sc10 rear and they put the bulkhead from the mxz onto the blizzard tunnel, with the blizzard belly pan, and installed the 583 rave motor. This is super cool, definitely gonna watch the playlist. Subscribed

I would definitely bring the back up. If you drop the front your going to create a steeper tracked angle off the drivers and therefore creating more rolling resistance. The smoother of a transition from the driveshaft to the front of the skid you can have the more track speed you’ll get. Sweet build by the way.

Cool build but it sure looks like your shocks are angled rearward and that won’t be good
  • I can see problems with that rear trailing arm support. That looks weak .. another reason why those designs used a fresh drafting board by increasing the distance of the ski legs from the front of the track... enabling that trailing arm support to run though as better triangulation. Another thought would be incorporating the front drive shaft as the trailing arm support, which would complicate things a bit by requiring custom trailing arm fabrications, . longer with better trajectory and strength.. Nice work
  • Ride it than see what happens .When you sit on it ,the weight will push it down. 150 lb person. Tim
  • What lift brackets are on the rear skid? Looking to do similar to my 96 formula mod.
