The technique of using long exposure shots on iPhone is the same as with a normal camera you try to keep the camera fixed (ideally on a tripod) then have a mixture of fixed scenario and a moving part of the photo the camera then takes an extended (length) photo or in the iPhones case for Long Exposure a multitude of shots the merges the moving part to give a blur effect which works really well say with waterfalls or Neon lights at night.

Thank you for taking the time to share this information. I have learned to better use my iPhone. I am a photographer but have rarely used my iPhone to take pictures. With all the hype around the new iPhones I am seriously thinking of using it more. Less weight to carry around and always in my pocket. As you get older, you start thinking of this.
