While nothing can truly take the place of an original "Old Bone", Jim Merrill's C-28 comes about as close as it gets. Lightly built and extremely lively sounding, this cannon not only has all the bass response a flatpicker could dream of, but it has the tight "crack" in the high end needed to drive the vocals, or an entire band. While this guitar may ooze pre-war tone, the playability is modern and extremely comfortable. The overall condition is excellent with a few beauty marks here and there, and the structure remains sound. Although this guitar already has the voice of a seasoned instrument, it still has a further to go on it's journey to open up and it is waiting for the right hands to take it there.
