I am now aware that Luz wasn’t saying “sí” but rather “see”. I heard it wrong, my bad! Thanks to all the people that pointed it out in the comments 🥺
-
“lo siento, mamá*” hurts every goddamn time i swear
-
Now imagine Luz flirting with Amity in Spanish. Edit : Wow-wee, this aged well-
-
That “¡Ay que lindo!” In my opinion, is the cutest phrase Luz has ever said on the show ^^
-
I like that there aren't subtitles when she speaks Spanish. It makes the language more a part of Luz's world and indirectly reinforces it as part of the audience's world, rather than something the audience isn't expected to understand. Like with good LGBT representation, the foreign language is just there, not something to gawk at.

"Oye, no me hables así!" me, a bilingual: this is the best moment of my life!
-
Why do Americans think that for the simple fact of speaking Spanish we are Mexicans ??, it is as if we said that Australians and Americans are the same lol
-
now imagine Amity learning Spanish to impress Luz. Like imagine a scenario when Amity is looking for a book/scroll in the library (I know that they probably don’t even know about spanish on the boiling isles but perhaps amity is very desperate to impress luz and finds a way?) to learn Spanish and Luz catching her and thinking she’s just interested in the language and ends up helping her.

Every time she speaks Spanish my heart gets so happy, the “she sounds like me” moment I get when she mixes the two languages and switches back and forth, the unpredictability of her accent, it feels so beautifully familiar every single time (,:

"oye, no me hable así" es que me encanta AAAAA.
-
I love when she says: "Ay que lindo!"
-
The Spanish language is so beautiful, and the way the voice actors speaks it sounds so gorgeous. It would be nice if they could make an ep about luz’s Spanish in some way.
-
0:29 My favorite.
-
I love how she speaks spanish, but also confusing for me because I don't know the english translation
-
Me: im from Argentina American: what? Me: i speak spanish American: oooh, Mexico
-
Hank Hill:"So are ya Mexican or Brazilian?" Luz:"I'm Dominican." Hank Hill:"...so are ya Mexican or Brazilian?"
-
Me : hey America, I’m Dominican! America: what? Me: I speak spanish America: ohhh so your from Mexico?
-
Para ser latina pensé que hablaría más veces español. Pero igual esta P O T E N T E
-
I have to admit, this is better than many Latino characters I've seen in cartoons over the years. They're incorporating whole phrases that make sense and feel natural for the character and situation, instead of just dropping an spanish word in an unconvincing accent every now and then.

"Lo siento Mamá" That hurts in any way possible
