Just discovered this today (in 2022). What a gem of a conversation. Art is such a gracious, intelligent, humble and kind human being. Love him.

His singing had me in tears. So very pure and sincere and brought back so many memories.

I had no idea how intelligent and thoughtful Art Garfunkel is. I have new found respect and admiration for the man. Thanks for sharing this with the world.
  • How blessed those of us are who grew up while Art and Paul built the framework for our life.
  • Garfunkel is a natural storyteller, to melody. When he begins to sing, you just have to listen. His voice is like shimmery, trembling starlight, over velvet.
  • Art was born with A magnificent gift of singing angels, and Paul was born with the gift of a true poet. Together, they took Paul's poetical lyrics, and sang them into the history books. With Art's angelic voice, Paul's writing took on wings to fly.

A pure genius and a brilliant star. One way or another he will always be with us.

His speaking voice is as beautiful and elegant as his singing voice.
  • When he started singing Kathy's Song (or as I called it, "Abbey's Song"), my heart melted. What an angel and a sweetheart Art Garfunkel is. I wish I could meet him, just for a little while.

As I age I am SOO thankful to have grown up with the incredibly fantastic music of the 50's, 60's & 70's. I don't know if there has ever been a musical revolution like this in human history or if there will again. I hope so. People deserve to experience what I did.
  • I was 15 and walking down a dirt alley in Lake City, FL listening to my little transistor radio the first time I heard "Sounds Of Silence". My two friends and I stopped right there and listened to the whole song. I can still see the alley in my mind, and still feel that "Mesmerized" feeling that we all three seemed to feel.
  • I've always loved Simon and Garfunkle's music. What amazing talents.

Oh God, thank you for Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, their songs resonated in my soul as I learned to be a man. They have much to do with who I am. When the rain is falling gently, I still sometimes like to go outside and play Kathy's song on my quena. So many beautiful, gentle and compassionate songs! What can be of more value in this world that a man bless those around him with compassion. Paul & Art, you have given the world a treasure indeed! Thank you for using the gifts you were given to bless us all.

Art Garfunkel is simply this: Talent with some kind of personal philosophy behind it. You can tell, this guy knows what he is talking about.
  • @dennysmith4396
Always was my hero... gentle giant with an angelic voice... no ego... no nastiness ever...
  • WOW ... Art's refined "quiet intelligence" is as smooth as his voice ;-). Great interview.

How fantastic it is to see a thoughtful interview by someone who knows how to do interviews. Kudos to Ken Paulson, one of the few interviewers who actually does his homework and comes to the table ready to lead an intelligent and interesting discussion. Shows how a little preparation makes all the difference. And of course he had a great guest here. Art Garfunkel really put the soul and feeling into Paul Simon's wonderful songs.
