Don't buy an Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch. Buy any of these 5 watches instead, thank me later.

I agreed with a couple of those. There are so many mechanical chronos out there now with the st-19 movement for $150-$250. Sugess is a great option!
  • Why no mention of the citizen Skyhawk? Radio controlled, world time, countdown timer, stop watch, dual time.

I believe that the Moonswatch is more or less like a toy you buy to have in your collection. Not something to wear but something to collect.

One thing I would commend on these guys is they actually brought young people into wearing watches again. Timex could learn a thing or two about marketing strats from these guys.
  • I agree on the Bulova Lunar Pilot, it is a great watch but due to the size not for everyone and at a significantly higher price
  • I’ve got the Accurist Retro Racer and put it on a black leather racing strap (you know; 3 holes decreasing in size) with orange stitching to compliment the hands. love mesh straps but it looks great with this mod. Great looking watch for such a low price.

I was about to buy one of the moon swatches when I landed on your video about getting one. Found this video right after and it led me to the Timex Waterbury Chronograph (similar to the Q) which I am in love with!

Also got lucky last autumn - got the moonswatch mission to jupiter. In the first week i already replaced the strap, because it really wears off the velcro very fast. After some weeks i realized that this watch is not a daily beater or a regular. Sold the watch for around 330 euros - which was very cheap for that time and bought myself the pagani copy (or hommage if you want to say it) and a casio ae1200. Never looked back to the plastic Moonswatch...

With the Sea-gull, it's the joy of owning a real, column wheel mechanical chronograph movement, based on the swiss Venus 175. It's not based on logic, but passion. I, too, was looking at alternatives including mecha quartz, but they're just not the same. The St1901 movements are reasonably reliable, and mine is quite accurate. I had the crown snap off due to being damaged in shipping and the after sales service was quite good as they sent me a new crown and stem which I got within a week. No doubt I won't have any problems when I order a new movement come the time for service. Incredible value.

The Lunar Pilot was obvious and i own some Dan Henrys but the others were really interesting. Thanks for the great video!

    Brilliant video. Very necessary observations.
  • Yeup I learned this the hard way and I didn’t wear it but the box still scratched the crystal so now I can’t sell it
  • @robbieatvic
Well done. What a great vid on comparisons. If you really want a moonswatch watch this.
  • @chojny23
Just bought Seiko…. Thank you for your tipp 👍
  • SSB401 (yes, 401 and not 403 or others) looks like THE way to go among these. I wish it had solar charging and perpetual calendar though. Upd. Got the SSB401P1, almost no complaints for the price.

My two most expensive watches are a Seiko and a Bulova lol 🙂 I even said screw it and got the Vincero (The Reserve Automatic White Dial) a couple years ago when it was only $480, and now it’s something like $880 and has become their most popular and expensive watch. People talk a lot of crap about Vincero, not really sure why when MVMT is the real joker in the deck in that price range. I couldn’t be happier with my Vinny though.
