When one song wakes your interest in a whole musical

i hate how everyone says "i hate musicals and theatre is weird" yet they literally only use musical theatre songs on tiktok... like they raided six, hamilton, heathers, mean girls, dear evan hansen, and now waitress. they just need to admit theatre is literally the superior type of music.

the chorus hits so different slowed down, but i think the verses are better normally. butttt, as an alto, it’s super fun to sing.

What I love about this is it feels even more melancholic and whimsical than the original version. Like the original is more anxious and that rabid fretting form of anxiety that’s so relatable. But this feels more like the contemplative side of that anxiety, where you’re up at night thinking of your exes and you can’t help but fear that maybe you were the problem and not them.
