Set aside some serious time, what are you going to eat today?
"Old Spitalfields Market is a covered market in Spitalfields, London. There has been a market on the site for over 350 years. In 1991 it gave its name to New Spitalfields Market in Leyton, where fruit and vegetables are now traded. In 2005, a regeneration programme resulted in the new public spaces: Bishops Square and Crispin Place, which are now part of the modern Spitalfields Market."
Nearest tube: Aldgate East (District and Hammersmith & City lines).
Nearest Overground: Shoreditch High Street.

Whenever I travel to London I arrive in Liverpool Street. I'll often walk over to Spitalfields, then Brick Lane, Up Market, Truman Brewery Market, and into the gentrified Shoreditch and Box Park area. The next time I visit I'm treating myself to a meal at St Johns, although I don't know whether to visit the original restaurant near Smithfield or St John Bread & wine out front of Spitalfields.
