Luisa was born in Central America in the tiny country of El Salvador. In the early 1980’s, when she was very young, she immigrated with her mother and siblings to the United States. She attended the University of Texas at Austin for one year before transferring to the University of Texas – San Antonio, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts-Spanish in 1997. Luisa spent the next 18 years as an armed forces spouse, homeschooling all four of her children. Over the course of this time she and her family relocated nearly ten times. Living across the eastern half of the U.S. in the states of TX, FL, IL, IN, OH, and VA.
