Just Asking...and without Prejudice... How can we celebrate Australia Day with a date that begins with the oncoming and systematic slaughter of 300,000 indigenous persons and the personal suffering of the stolen generations commencing from that Date? every time I see those fireworks I feel deeply sorry for those who suffer the memories of those atrocities and for those who lived and died through them, so consequently I feel no part of any Celebration... Change the Date so All Australians can all be involved in the Celebration together. The Date of Rudd"s apology would be a good starting point! I wish all the powers up top would stop shoving it all under the carpet and show compassion to the problem which sparks devision and conflict that appears to be increasing in intensity amongst many divided Australians every year, including 3 recent councils???
