I am cyclist, 365 days a year. I am Dutch but I live in Germany for more than 20 years now near the border with the Netherlands (35 Km north of Aachen). I do commute every day to my work in the Netherlands (80 minutes a day) with my E-bike, in every weather. I do this since 2016, I sold my car, I do drive a car maybe twice a year (I get really bored driving a car). Since 2019 I started biketouring. From the beginning I experimented with solar charging during my biketrips. I went to Normandy in 2019 for a 3 week tour. In 2020 I went to the Black Forest in the south of Germany. Both times I used a trailer with a 100 Watt solarpanel on top. In 2021 I went through the Eifel and along the Mosel river. I did this tour with only a tiny solarpanel. In 2022 I went to the Alpes at the border of Germany and Austria with a 200 Watt panel. That was the first time I really could travel off grid.
