About Carrie FitzGibbon

Carrie has been writing songs since the 1990s, but the topics in her writing are timeless. In 2001, she won the Abe Olman Scholarship for Excellence in Songwriting from the Songwriters Hall of Fame. That same year, she was a survivor of the 9/11 attacks after running late for work on the 52nd floor of the South Tower. This influenced some of her music as she completed her first EP in 2003 and received public radio play of her single, "As Long As I'm With You". For years she performed with her band, The Foundation, in bars/coffeehouses throughout NYC and the tri-state area. After competing for a spot in the nat'l television show, Nashville Star, and receiving praise for her writing from judges (The Warren Brothers), she and her husband contemplated a move to Nashville in 2004. But for very personal reasons, they remained in NYC and Carrie put her writing aside for an indefinite time. After nearly a decade, she is writing again and is excited about this new chapter in her life.
