Raised in NJ. 1st trombone. Chess team 1st board. Letter for track. Yearbook photog/editor. Solar eclipse cruise to Africa, alone, at age 15: met Neil Armstrong, Scott Carpenter, Asimov, Hynek, etc. Neil watched me play ping pong with his son. Likely the only passenger not asking for an autograph/photo/story, he would always greet me, chat, introduce me, etc. Much later, I met Buzz Aldrin many times. I'm lucky at meeting astronauts, musicians, poker players!
