This is my educational channel where I will be sharing some demos of the exercises in my book Flow Studies and More for Trombone. My book is designed to be different and contains explanations on how to use the book and play the exercises. It’s for players with aging chop issues, those who don’t like long tones or mouthpiece buzzing, beginners, and even advanced players. Air flow is always something we need to work on, and these exercises will achieve many of the same goals as long tones and mouthpiece buzzing. It’s just more fun because the notes move, but our lips should remain as neutral as possible while responding to the forward moving air. Air flow is a fundamental. I’ve been teaching privately since 1971 and am currently the Lead Trombonist of the Columbus Jazz Orchestra in Columbus Ohio, and Bass Trombonist of the Mason Symphony Orchestra.
